Seva is the union of love and action: love in action.
Seva is a sanksrit word meaning selfless service. Generally, to see things clearly we need both our eyes. Through yoga or union with the Divine, we are connected to our hearts, is said to be like one eye. Dharma, doing good deeds, is said to be like the other eye. When unconditional love and good deeds unite we see clearly, we have love in action.
Most of the events we offer are by donation, with a suggested amount, however if for any reason this is not achievable, or you would like to offer more, we have no judgement.
Why?
When we put a price on something, this creates a binding contract. When we offer something without expecting anything in return, then this is an act of kindness or ‘Dharma’. If someone would like to give towards supporting our events, then that is also kindness and ‘Dharma’. Doing ‘Dharma’ creates joy and good karma for the ones making the offering. Seeing we feel blessed by all we have been offered in this life, then we aim to extend this on to our community and the world at large.
10% of all donations given go toward funding projects for the Beloved Narayani Association, of which most goes to the amazing charitable projects of Sri Narayani Peedam in India.
“You can never do good deeds if you think of doing them only after fulfilling all your needs. Because the mind with all its desires is like a bottomless vessel. It will never say ‘enough’. Therefore, make doing charity one of the utmost necessities for you.”Sri Sakthi Amma
